Police say the victim, a 57-year-old man, died of smoke inhalation in a fire sparked by careless smoking.

His name has not been released.

Police say it was just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, when emergency crews were called to reports of a fire in an apartment building on Proudfoot Lane.
