Looks like fans have the opportunity to be Together Again once more with pop legend Janet Jackson in 2019.
That’s right, the Pleasure Principle singer will be returning to Las Vegas this spring and summer, but this time with a string of residency dates. Her first ever.
Jackson will bring a brand new production entitled ‘Metamorphosis,’ over to the Park Theatre at Park MGM resort for 15 explosive shows. The run begins on May 17 and will conclude on Aug. 10.
With ‘Metamorphosis,’ the 52-year-old will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her breakthrough album Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, as well as her journey to worldwide stardom.
The 1989 album — best known simply as Rhythm Nation — features some of her biggest hits Miss You Much, Escapade and the self-titled Rhythm Nation.
“I’m so excited to announce my new Vegas residency, Metamorphosis,” wrote Jackson via Twitter. “The celebration of my journey and the 30th anniversary of #RhythmNation!”

It’s expected that Jackson’s set will feature a large portion of Rhythm Nation material.
“Metamorphosis peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global icon,” wrote a spokesperson.
“The centerpiece of this all new thought-provoking show, will be Janet herself, captivating you through your senses.”
“Fans will follow her path to self-love, empowerment, motherhood and activism,” they continued, “amidst the challenges faced along her personal journey.”

Since 1973, Jackson — much like the rest of her family — has been involved in show business. Her father Joe Jackson, the late-talent agent and Jackson family patriarch, got her involved.
She appeared on a number of television shows until she recorded her debut album in 1982. Jackson was only 16 years old at the time.
It wasn’t until Rhythm Nation that Jackson became a worldwide phenomenon. Since then, she has sold more than 160-million records worldwide and won six Grammy Awards.
Jackson is still one of the top-selling artists of all time alongside her late brother, Michael Jackson.
Her latest album Unbreakable, was released in 2015. It received critical acclaim. It’s unclear whether Jackson is working on a follow-up record.
