Hamilton police seize firearms and are searching for suspects, following hit and run

Hamilton police have seized three firearms following a hit and run in the city.

It happened just after 1 a.m. Monday, when police say a vehicle collided with a taxi on Grant Avenue before the four occupants fled the scene.

Police arrived to find a black 2012 Acura parked in a private driveway and a loaded firearm in plain view.

Shortly after, police located four men walking northbound on Tisdale Street and entering a vehicle with an Uber logo on Cannon Street.

When police initiated a traffic stop, the four occupants fled in various directions.

In total, police say they recovered three firearms.

The K9 unit was called in, but the suspects remain at large.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Black male with long black hair with one dreadlock/braid, wearing all black jeans and jacket, with a goatee, 5’3-5’4
  • Black male with scruff on his face, carrying a backpack, 5’8-5’9
  • Black/brown male with fair complexion, braids, goatee and wearing light blue jacket and jeans
  • Black male wearing cream coloured jacket, blue jeans and carrying a backpack
