OPP arrest 5, seize cash, guns, drugs in busts from Scarborough to Napanee

Five people are facing a total of 28 charges after a major cross-region drug bust.

On Feb. 11, officers with the Napanee OPP, along with Toronto and Belleville police, executed search warrants at five addresses in Napanee, Prince Edward County, Belleville and Scarborough.

According to police, the seizure included three firearms, ammunition, thousands of dollars in cash, as well as powdered cocaine and cocaine pills.

The ages of those charged ranged from 22 to 86.

Shaye Murdoch, 22, of Napanee, was charged with:
• Five counts of unlawful possession and storage of firearms
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence

Brian Murdoch, 52, of Napanee, was charged with:
• Five counts of unlawful possession and storage of firearms
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000

Sherry Murdoch, 51, of Napanee, was charged with:
• Unlawful possession and storage of firearms (5 counts)
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000

Jermaine Martinborough, 37, of Scarborough, had his parole revoked and was charged with:
• Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• Trafficking cocaine
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Possession of proceeds of crime

Edward Enright, 86, of Belleville, was charged with:
• Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
• Possession of proceeds of crime

The five people charged are set to appear in a Napanee court in early March.
