UPDATE: Southbound lanes of Coquihalla reopened, but expect delays

SECOND UPDATE:

DriveBC is reporting that traffic is once again flowing along the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla.

Earlier in the day, both the southbound and northbound lanes were closed between Hope and Merritt because of a traffic incident.

The closure was then minimized to the southbound lanes. But at 4:43 p.m., DriveBC said the southbound lanes were reopened, though motorists should expect delays due to traffic congestion.

According to DriveBC, the southbound lanes of the Coquihalla are closed, while the northbound lanes are open.

The next assessment will take place at approximately 3 p.m.
