Rolling Stones announce Ontario outdoor show this Canada Day weekend

Rock and roll fans can get excited, as one of the biggest bands in the world has announced they will be making a stop in Ontario this Canada Day weekend.

On June 29, The Rolling Stones will be playing at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte for “Canada Rocks with The Rolling Stones.”

According to a news release issued by the host of the event, Republic Live, the show at Burl’s Creek is the Stones’ only Canadian stop on their “No Filter” tour.

“Having The Rolling Stones choose Burl’s Creek on the Canada Day weekend as the only Canadian stop on their tour is a truly humbling experience for us,” said co-founder of Republic Live, Eva Dunford, in the release. “The Stones are the greatest rock and roll band in the world and this show will, without a doubt, put Burl’s Creek on the map as a world-class destination.”

The set list for the show includes Sympathy for the Devil, Paint it Black, Brown Sugar, Miss You and more from the Stones’ extensive catalogue, which is sure to entertain multiple generations of the iconic group.

According to the release, close to 70,000 fans are expected to attend the event at Burl’s Creek.

“This show on the Canada Day weekend will no doubt be the hottest ticket in the country and we expect fans to travel from all over the world, as well as every province and territory to see the only Canadian show on this tour,” said Lisa Zechmeister, director of booking and development at Republic Live.

The “No Filter” tour will make stops in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, New York and Chicago before heading north for Canada Day weekend.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. ET/PT.

Oro-Medonte is located approximately 15 minutes north of Barrie on Lake Simcoe.
