Fluffy the cat is lucky to be alive after being found injured, “essentially frozen” and buried in Montana snow.
The frozen feline was found by its owner in a Kalispell snowbank late last week when the temperatures dropped to a chilly -13C, its fur clumped with snow and ice, ABC News reported.
The cat’s owners rushed Fluffy to a local animal clinic in Kalispell.
“They brought her to us essentially frozen and unresponsive,” Animal Clinic of Kalispell said on social media.
A vet at the clinic told ABC News that Fluffy’s body temperature was so low, it didn’t register on a thermometer with a bottom range of 90F. According to the vet, cats’ temperatures are normally around 101F.
The clinic used warm water and blankets to thaw the cat and after several hours, Fluffy was showing signs of recovery.
“After many hours she recovered and is now completely normal,” the clinic said. “Fluffy is amazing!”
According to ABC News, Fluffy will now be an indoor cat.
