One woman is dead after a major pileup on Highway 20 West near Rivière-Beaudette, by the Ontario border, Wednesday night.
The accident occurred just after 11 p.m. when a 53-foot semi-trailer jackknifed on the highway.
As a result, there was a pileup of 10 cars and seven semi-trailers.
Two people were seriously injured and taken to hospital. Fortunately, their lives are not in danger.
Sûreté du Québec closed the highway in both directions Wednesday night but it has since reopened.
An investigation is underway but SQ says the crash was most likely due to poor weather conditions.
