Man dies after being pulled from Speed River in Guelph

Guelph police say they are looking for witnesses after the death of a man who was pulled from Speed River near the downtown area.

Emergency crews were called to the water near Wellington and Arthur streets at around 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said they located a man in the river and transported him to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man won’t be identified until family members are notified.

Guelph police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the lead investigator at 519-824-1212 ext. 7248.
