BRAMPTON, Ont. – Three Peel regional police officers face assault charges over an incident in Brampton, Ont., in September.
According to the Special Investigations Unit, police made a traffic stop but the driver ran off.
The unit says officers chased the man into a backyard of a home and an “interaction” ensued.

Police arrested the injured suspect, who needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The SIU says Const. Roman Marchyshyn and Const. Sunny Mukhi are charged with assault and assault with a weapon, while Const. Connor Byrne faces an assault charge.
All three are due in court in Brampton on Feb. 18.
