OpenTable revealed Wednesday Saskatchewan has four establishments on the list.

Among those restaurants selected from Saskatoon were Little Grouse on the Prairie, and Taverna Italian Kitchen.

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar was selected for its 10 locations in Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon restaurant at 1110 Grosvenor Ave. was recognized.

Regina’s Avenue also made the list.

The list reflects the combined opinions of more than 500,000 reviews, collected between Dec. 1, 2017, and Nov. 30, 2018, for more than 2,500 restaurants in Canada. Ontario topped the list with 39 establishments.

OpenTable said qualifying restaurants were scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.

The 2018 list included Little Grouse on the Prairie again, and Regina’s Chop Steakhouse & Bar.

OpenTable also revealed its 2019 rankings for the top 10 “most romantic cities” on Wednesday. Saskatoon took ninth place for cities considered Canada’s top romantic dining destinations.

The following cities are Canada’s “most romantic cities”:

  1. Calgary;
  2. Edmonton;
  3. Halifax;
  4. Banff, Alta.;
  5. Montreal;
  6. Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont.;
  7. Ottawa;
  8. Toronto;
  9. Saskatoon; and
  10. Victoria.

OpenTable calculated the “most romantic cities” using three variables: the percentage of restaurants rated “romantic”; the percentage of tables seated for two; and the percentage of people who dined out for Valentine’s Day in 2018.

The company, headquartered in San Francisco, Calif., is a provider of online restaurant reservations.
