He will also serve one year probation, is prohibited from operating a motor vehicle for 15 months and will have to participate in 10 talks on the dangers of drunk driving, something Adams has offered to do with him.
“If he can help me save lives or change people’s behaviours, then I’m ready to do it with him,” said Adams in court on Tuesday.

Both the Crown and the defence recommended these terms for the 26-year-old during sentencing arguments on Jan. 9.
In a Valleyfield courtroom Tuesday, Taylor stood still and stone-faced while Quebec Court Judge Betrand St-Arnaud read his decision.
During his probation, he will not be allowed to drink, use drugs or be in clubs or bars.

Taylor pleaded guilty last June — he had initially pleaded not guilty — to impaired driving causing bodily harm after hitting Tina Adams and a friend in 2015 on Cambridge Street in Hudson, just west of Montreal.
“I’m terribly sorry to Tina and her family, and my own family. I never wanted his accident to happen,” Taylor said, addressing the victim during sentencing arguments earlier this month.
“I know saying sorry is an understatement for what happened. I made a big mistake to drive my car that day and I will never forget how much this hurts you, Tina.”

Adams underwent 19 surgeries — including a hip replacement and a reconstructed pelvis.
She does not know if she will ever be able to have children and still suffers from chronic pain.
On Tuesday, Taylor’s lawyer, Philip Schneider said his client was sincere in his apology to Adams in court last month, adding that he’s taking his punishment very seriously.
“He obviously sincerely regrets it,” said Schneider. “He feels horrible about it – he has for the last three and half years.”
