The UCP’s original candidate in Calgary-Mountain View was Caylan Ford. However, she resigned on March 18 after online comments she made about race and white supremacist terrorists came to light.

History

Swann was the only Liberal to win a seat in the 2015 election, leading to speculation on whether the NDP would grant the Liberals official party status.

Swann was first elected in 2004. Before that, voters had elected Social Credit, Progressive Conservative, NDP and Liberal LMAs.
