History
NDP MLA Anam Kazim narrowly won the Calgary-Glenmore riding in the 2015 election, which is located in the city’s southwest.
Following the election, which saw Kazim win her seat by just six votes, Progressive Conservative incumbent Linda Johnson applied for a judicial recount. The recount confirmed Kazim as the winner for the riding.
The Calgary-Glenmore riding, which was created in 1959, is one of the city’s two original ridings. It was named after the well-known Glenmore Reservoir.
In 2009, voters elected Wildrose candidate Paul Hinman, who would lose his seat in the 2012 election to Johnson.
