Toronto police sources tell Global News two people have died in a suspected murder-suicide at an apartment building in the city’s east end.
Officers and paramedics were called to a Birchmount Road highrise south of St. Clair Avenue East just after 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
A Toronto Paramedic Services spokesperson told Global News two patients were assessed at the scene and no one was taken to hospital.
The body of a man covered by a tarp was seen in front of a building. A woman was found dead inside an apartment unit on the eighth floor.

A police spokesperson said the incident is believed to be isolated and that there’s no immediate threat to public safety.
Toronto police homicide squad investigators are probing the events leading up to the deaths of the woman and the man.
