Peel Regional Police say a 19-year-old woman fatally struck by a bus in Brampton is no longer being treated as a fail-to-remain collision.
Police said they responded to a call before 9:45 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound off-ramp of Highway 410 at Williams Parkway.
First responders arrived on scene and transported the teen to a trauma centre where she was later pronounced dead.
Police initially didn’t release a description of the suspect vehicle and a spokesperson said officers have not been able to speak to any witnesses.
However, in an update released by police Wednesday evening, investigators determined the sought-after vehicle was a small yellow school bus not carrying passengers.
A spokesperson said the driver initially stopped and spoke with police before leaving the scene. The spokesperson said the driver of the bus has been co-operating with police.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
