Halifax police say suspicious package in North End not a threat

Halifax Regional Police say an investigation into a suspicious package in the city’s North End has ended, with police determining there was no threat.

Police say that at 11:50 a.m. officers found the package in the 5700 block of West Street.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic was temporarily shut down on West Street between Robie Street and Agricola Street.

The roads have been re-opened.

Members of the explosive disposal unit examined the package, eventually determining that it contained clothing.
