A search that afternoon along the shoreline by the Saskatoon fire water team and by divers in the frigid water failed to turn up the missing man.

A second search took place on Sunday, with crews searching an area from Whiteswan Drive to Wanuskewin Heritage Park.

Saskatoon police also deployed their plane to search the water, as the river bottom was visible in much of the search area.

No trace of the man was found.
