Barrie police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man accused of stealing gas and driving with fake licence plates.
According to police, on July 18, just after 5:30 p.m., a suspect was captured on surveillance footage allegedly stealing gas from the Esso gas station on Mapleview Drive East in Barrie.
Police say the car was equipped with licence plates not registered to the vehicle.
Officers are now looking for a man in his 40s, with a medium build and dark hair which is shaved on the sides and longer on the top. He was seen wearing a black T-shirt, dark coloured cargo shorts and black shoes.
Police say the vehicle in question is a four-door Acura with tinted windows and Ontario licence plates which read CEXD 009.
