Waterloo police arrest Kitchener man in connection with June shooting

Waterloo police have arrested one man and issued a warrant for another in relation to a shooting which occurred in Kitchener on June 9.

Police are looking for 35-year-old Kyro Sparks, who is facing charges of careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Sparks is described as being five feet 11 inches and 145 pounds, with an athletic build. He has a shaved head and a thick beard.

A 31-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with numerous firearms offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and careless use of a firearm.

Back on June 9, police responded to 250 Chandler Dr. in Kitchener for a report of a shooting.

Police were told that three men and a woman had driven up to the location and began to argue with area residents, before a shot was fired and they fled the scene.

The following Wednesday, police arrested a woman in connection with the shooting.

A 30-year-old Kitchener woman was charged with a multitude of offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession a schedule II controlled substance over 30 grams.
