Officers first noticed the vehicle near McGregor Street and Jarvis Avenue at 12:50 a.m. and began pursuit after the driver ran a stop sign.

Air1 was called in to help in the chase and the cruiser backed off.  The vehicle was seen running a number of stop signs and red lights.

When the car turned onto the Perimeter Highway, police used a StopStick twice but the vehicle continued.  It veered into the westbound lanes and sped eastward against traffic, travelling up to 170 km per hour.

The car finally ran into a ditch when it lost a tire. The driver jumped out and ran, but officers caught up with him.
