Two men in their 20s are facing a laundry list of charges in connection with an alleged armed robbery in Hammonds Plains, N.S., Tuesday morning that resulted in a brief manhunt.
Matthew Leslie Grimm, 27, of East Chezzetcook and Austin Michael Mitton, 23, who doesn’t have a fixed address, are each facing more than a dozen charges.

Nova Scotia RCMP say the robbery happened around 9:45 a.m. at a business along Hammonds Plains Road.
Police say two masked men — one carrying a firearm — got out of a vehicle in the business’ parking lot, approached an employee and pointed the firearm at them while demanding money.

They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Global News has confirmed the robbery happened outside the Sipekne’katik Entertainment Centre.
The suspects were later reportedly spotted driving erratically on Hammonds Plains Road. Police say their investigation led them to Highway 102 Exit 2B, where a crash occurred involving a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle.
The driver was arrested at the scene, but a brief manhunt and lockdown was needed to locate the second man. He was arrested a short time later.
Grimm is facing the following charges:
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Careless use of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapons for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
- Breach of prohibition order
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Flight from police
- Driving while prohibited
- Robbery with a firearm
- Wearing a disguise
- Three counts of breach of probation
Mitton is facing the following charges:
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Careless use of a firearm
- Possession of weapons for dangerous purpose
- Pointing a firearm
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing its unauthorized
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
- Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon
- Resist arrest
- Flight from police
- Robbery with a firearm
- Wearing a disguise
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Five counts of breach of probation
Both remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Wednesday.
