RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area while they investigate.

“It is suggested that eastbound traffic use Highway 1A until Highway 1 returns to full capacity,” the release said.

It is not known how many vehicles are involved or if there are any injuries, however, video from the scene showed a semi-truck in the median.

Police didn’t say how long traffic would be affected.
