The Winnipeg BBQ & Blues Festival has cancelled their 2018 event.
In a statement posted on social media, organizers said the festival is now on hold for a year.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the difficult decision has been made to put the Winnipeg BBQ & Blues Festival on hiatus for one year,” organizers wrote.
“We are optimistic about the Festival’s future and in the coming months will be working hard towards its return in 2019.”
The BBQ & Blues Festival was in its seventh year. For the past few years, the festival was held in the Exchange District in front of the Burton Cummings Theatre on Smith Street.
The festival included musical acts and barbecue competitions, as well as food trucks.
Global Winnipeg has reached out to organizers for comment.
