Two women were killed following a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) crash near Bancroft early Sunday.
Around 5:30 a.m., Bancroft OPP were called to the crash scene along Gilbert Bay Lane near Coe Hill in Wollaston Township, approximately 40 kilometres south of Bancroft.
Police, along with North Hastings Emergency Medical Services, and Wollaston Fire Services, located the driver and passenger both without vital signs.
They were pronounced deceased at the scene.
They’ve been identified as Jennifer Barnai, 37, of Hamilton, and Carissa Drehmer, 34, of Haldimand, Ont.
Police say autopsies are being conducted Monday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
