Road closures begin Wednesday ahead of Honda Indy

A number of road closures are in place ahead of the 32nd Honda Indy this weekend in Toronto.

Beginning at noon on Wednesday, southbound Strachan Avenue is closed from Fleet Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West.

As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, Lake Shore Boulevard will also be closed from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive.

The closures are expected to remain in place until 11 p.m. Sunday.

Toronto police are advising people attending the event to take transit to the area.

The TTC and GO Transit will have increased service to Exhibition Place as well.

The main race is scheduled to begin just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
