An inmate has escaped from a northwestern New Brunswick jail, according to the RCMP.
Police say at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, 38-year-old Kevin Beaulieu hopped the fence at Madawaska Regional Correctional Centre and ran off on foot.

Officers have been unable to locate him.

Beaulieu is described as a five-foot-10, 170-pound man with short shaved brown hair, green eyes with tattoo on his back.

He was wearing an orange jump suit and blue shoes when he escaped.
Anyone who spots the inmate is asked not to approach him and instead to contact authorities immediately.
