The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will try to pull off their first three-game winning streak since 2015 when they invade Saskatchewan Thursday night.

Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m.

After the game, you can listen to The 5th Quarter postgame show on 900 CHML, online at 900chml.com and via the Radioplayer Canada app.

The Ticats are coming off impressive wins over Winnipeg and Edmonton and have sole possession of first place in the East Division for the first time since Week 17 in 2015.

It is also the first time since 2009 that Hamilton has started a season 2-1.

Cats QB Jeremiah Masoli was named a CFL top performer for the second week in a row after throwing for 369 yards and a touchdown last week against the Blue Bombers.

Masoli was also named a CFL top performer for the month of June. Entering Week 4, he leads all CFL quarterbacks with 75 completions, a 70.8 per cent completion rate and 1,045 passing yards.

The sixth-year veteran has recorded eight consecutive 300-yard passing games, one behind co-record holders Sam Etcheverry (1956) and Kent Austin (1991).

After opening their season with a home win over defending champion Toronto, the 1-2 Roughriders have dropped their last two contests against Ottawa and Montreal.

3 things to watch:

1. Can Masoli stay hot? QB Jeremiah Masoli’s eight straight 300-yard passing games is two better than former franchise record holder Danny McManus’ six consecutive 300-yard outings in 1999. Masoli is on pace to throw for 6,270 yards, which is almost 1,000 more than the team record of 5,367 yards set by Henry Burris in 2012. There are only four QBs in the 6K passing club — Doug Flutie, Kent Austin, David Acher, and Anthony Calvillo.

Most Passing Yards, one season
6,619 – Doug Flutie (1991) B.C. Lions
6,225 – Kent Austin (1992) Saskatchewan Roughriders
6,092 – Doug Flutie (1993) Calgary Stampeders
6,041 – Anthony Calvillo (2004) Montreal Alouettes
6,023 – David Archer (1993) Sacramento Gold Miners

2. Hamilton is due, right? The Ticats have lost their last three games against the Roughriders and have been on the losing end in four of their last five meetings in Regina. The last time Hamilton won three games in a row was July 26, 2015, to August 21, 2015, when then Ticats QB Zach Collaros led the club to a five-game winning streak. According to CFL stats guru Steve Daniel, this will be the fifth time since then that Hamilton has a chance to win three in a row.

3. Turnovers. The Riders have coughed up a CFL-worst nine turnovers and are last in the league with a minus-4 turnover ratio. Saskatchewan swept their season series vs. Hamilton in 2017, thanks in large part to winning the turnover battle 6-2. The Cats have committed five turnovers this season and have forced their opponents to turn the ball over four times (a -1 ratio). Hamilton is the only team in the league yet to score a point after forcing a turnover.
