UPDATE: 2:25 p.m. — The situation being investigated by the RCMP at UBC appears to be clearing up, after police looked into a non-specific threat that was made by phone.
A building was evacuated at UBC for a short time as the threat was investigated, but evacuees have returned to normal business, said a news release.
An evacuation was in effect at the University Services building at 2329 West Mall, but people were allowed to re-enter.
Access was also blocked to Buchanan Tower at 1873 East Mall, but people were allowed to re-enter that building, too.

RCMP are still on the scene with the police dog service, gathering any further information. The RCMP was not able to substantiate the threat.
Road closures are in effect at the University of British Columbia (UBC) as the RCMP investigate “a situation” unfolding on campus.
The closures were announced by UBC Media Relations on Thursday afternoon.
The RCMP’s university detachment had no comment and directed inquiries to headquarters.
Global News left a message with headquarters but did not hear back by press time.
