Toronto transit officials are calling the incident of a man caught on camera clinging to the back of a moving bus a “reckless, dangerous and stupid stunt.”
A 35-second video posted on Twitter just before midnight on Thursday appears to show a man dressed in black riding on the back of a TTC bus with both hands gripped on the rear advertisement frame and his feet on the bumper.
The incident was recorded on Islington Avenue between Dixon Road and Rexdale Boulevard.

The video, which was shot from inside a moving vehicle, shows the bus stopping for several seconds before taking off again.
“Yo, what the hell is it? What is this? Only in Toronto,” the man behind the video is recorded saying.
He then goes on to ask the man on the back of the bus a question: “Oh my God. What do you gotta say?”
“Yeah, buddy. F**k the system, eh?” the man responded.

TTC spokesperson Brad Ross told Global News the stunt was incredibly dangerous.
“This is a reckless, dangerous and stupid stunt. This unidentified individual is not only putting themselves in harm’s way but motorists, as well,” Ross said.
“It’s reckless specifically because he is hanging onto an ad frame on the back of the bus. That’s just one screw or rivet away from popping out and him falling off the bus and potentially being run over by a car that may be behind that bus.”
