A BBC sports reporter, Mike Bushell, made a splash as he tripped and fell into a swimming pool while conducting a live interview with English swimmers at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The interviewees — Sarah Vasey, Adam Peaty, Siobhan-Marie O’Connor, Ben Proud and James Guy — struggled to contain their laughter as Bushell attempted to regain his composure and carry on the segment.

Bushell explained his fall saying the English swimming team’s medals distracted him. Together the five swimmers won one bronze, two silver and four gold medals at the games.

The 2018 Commonwealth Games are taking place in Australia’s Gold Coast from April 4 to 15.
