Students and staff at an elementary school on the West Mountain have been allowed back into their classrooms.
Gordon Price Elementary School, near the Linc and Upper Paradise, was evacuated for a brief time just before noon on Tuesday after Hamilton police were called in to investigate a suspicious item that was found outside.

Police say there was no risk to public safety as the item was a lighter that resembled a grenade.
