The final stage is underway for four consortiums that are vying to deliver Hamilton’s Pier 8 waterfront development.
Visuals and videos to go with their proposals can now be seen on the city’s website, where residents are also being given the chance to offer feedback.
Project lead Chris Phillips expects to go before council in June, recommending sale of the land to a developer who will build 1,500 residential units, commercial and institutional space along the west harbour.
Phillips says proposals will be evaluated by city staff on a financial basis, as well as on a range of technical criteria, including urban innovation and environmental sustainability.
The mixed-use development will be built within a public, recreational waterfront including a promenade park that will begin construction this year.
