Five houses raided in Guelph drug bust

Guelph police searched five homes and a vehicle as they executed several search warrants on Wednesday morning, in connection with a lengthy drug trafficking investigation.

Police say all of these warrants were executed simultaneously around 9 a.m at homes on Applewood Crescent, Franklin Boulevard, Victoria Road North, Oakes Drive and Hastings Drive.

Police say they seized about $14,675 worth of drugs that included cocaine and fentanyl, and just over $10,400 in cash. Investigators also confiscated several replica firearms, electronics and drug paraphernalia.

A 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of conspiracy for the purpose of committing an indictable offence.

Another 35-year-old Guelph man is also facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, two additional counts of trafficking and possession of proceeds of an indictable offence.

Three women are also facing charges including a 23-year-old and a 48-year-old from Guelph, and a 36-year-old woman from Fergus. All three face one count of possession of a controlled substance.
