A 36-year-old man from Regina is facing several charges following an incident involving dangerous driving.

On April 2, at approximately 2:45 a.m., police on patrol saw a Nissan Pathfinder travelling west on Victoria Avenue at Broad Street at speeds estimated to be over 100 kilometers.

Concern for public safety prevented police from making attempts to stop the vehicle at that time, however, the same vehicle was observed by other police units over the next hour.

At 3:47 a.m., police came upon the Pathfinder parked on 7th Avenue near Wallace Street. Police said the license plate did not match the registration information.

The occupant of the vehicle was found passed out, and an investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen on March 24.

The male driver was found to be heavily intoxicated. Upon taking the male into custody, the suspect had resisted officers. He was later cleared by EMS and held for court later that day.
