A suspect vehicle was involved in a collision with a Kingston police cruiser, and then fled, late on Thursday afternoon, say OPP.
When Loyalist OPP officers located the dark sedan, they found the vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 401 with five males suspects.
The car got off the 401 at County Road 6, where police say two out of five suspects jumped out of the car and took off on foot. The two suspects were quickly caught and arrested.
The car continued travelling south on County Road 6. When it arrived near Macintyre Road, it took a sudden turn off the road onto the railway tracks while heading east.
It was there that police finally caught up with the remaining three suspects and arrested them. Police say a Via Rail train struck the car.
Luckily, there were no injuries to police, the suspects or anyone on the train.
Via Rail service was suspended for a short time.
County Road 7 was closed between McIntyre Road and Ham Road for about an hour while the investigation took place.
