A low-pressure system fueled by Pacific moisture moved through Saskatchewan Friday, bringing heavy, wet snow and strong winds.
This wintry system moved into southwestern Saskatchewan Thursday night and started off as a rain snow mix.

Moisture then turned to snow Friday morning as it tracked northeast across the province.

Although it was a dry winter, the Queen City has already had more snowfall than normal for the month of March.
Gusts were recorded over 70 km/h in the City of Regina, causing visibility to be reduced to under a kilometre for over 6 hours on Friday.
Travel was not recommended on numerous highways around the province. If you plan on travelling this weekend, pack a winter emergency kit and check the Highway Hotline before heading out.
