everal businesses were damaged after an overnight fire at a commercial complex in Surrey.
The fire, which broke out at the complex on 80th Avenue near 130th Street, severely damaged an Indian restaurant and the neighbouring business.
Crews were called out around 1 a.m. and the fire was quickly upgraded to a three-alarm blaze as it spread to the roof.
“I think all the businesses will be affected in some way,” Assistant Fire Chief Jason Cairney told Global News.
“There are some units on the east side, we’re not sure if they’re affected yet or not.”
There is no word yet on how the fire started but it appears no one was injured.
At this hour, 80th Avenue remains shut down between 128th Street and 130th Street.
