Port Coquitlam fire crews were battling a boat fire on the Pitt River Thursday morning.
It is not known how the boat caught fire but black smoke could be seen by drivers going over the bridge around 8 a.m.
Fire Chief Nick Delmonico says the vessel was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Delmonico says a woman and a dog are being treated for injuries. The woman has been taken to hospital to be treated for burns. There is no word on the fate of her dog.
Witness Dennis Howitt told Global News he was down by the river for a walk when he saw the fire.
“I heard someone screaming and I saw the boat on fire so I ran over to the shore and asked her if there was anyone else in the boat and just directed her to get away from the boat,” he said.
More to come.
