A 16-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in East York on Wednesday afternoon.
Toronto police said officers responded to a call about a stabbing in the Coxwell and Cosburn avenues area, near East York Collegiate Institute, at around 3:15 p.m.
Toronto paramedics said the teen was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Police said he had suffered a stab wound to his torso.

Toronto District School Board spokesperson Ryan Bird confirmed to Global News the victim was a 16-year-old male student of East York Collegiate Institute, but was unable to provide further comment.
Canine units were dispatched to the area to search for two suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
