UPDATE: Curtis Wayne Sagmoen will remain behind bars for now.
The decision came down Wednesday afternoon following a bail hearing that began 10 days ago in Salmon Arm and was completed in Vernon.
Sagmoen was given bail on some of the charges he faces but not on others and will therefore remain in custody.
Sagmoen was detained on the more serious of a host of charges he is facing, according to Crown Counsel.
He will appear by video in Vernon court on March 8 to set a date for a preliminary hearing.
He has elected to be tried by judge alone in Supreme Court.
Sagmoen has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges he is facing.

Sagmoen is the man whose family farm property was the site of an extensive search by RCMP in October and November near Salmon Arm.
The remains of Traci Genereaux, 17, were uncovered during police excavation work at the farm but none of the charges against Sagmoen are related to that.
In a statement issued to the media, Genereaux’s mother, Lori Nixon, said she prays that Sagmoen is refused bail.
“I pray today that Curtis is refused bail and that justice removes its blinds and actually serves the public for once. I pray that the families of the other missing women find peace.”
RCMP have said they are still investigating Genereaux’s death.
Five women including Genereaux have gone missing in the same area of the north Okanagan in the past 20 months
Police have not linked any of the other cases with the search of the farm.
This afternoon’s bail hearing is also expected to be accompanied by a protest on the steps of the Vernon courthouse.
