The lockdown at Halifax West High School has ended after Halifax Regional Police (HRP) responded to a call saying there would be a shooting at the school.
Police say the call was placed to their dispatch and they responded to the school at 12:51 p.m.
With the assistance of a K-9 unit officers searched the school.
However, HRP say no firearms were located.

Multiple parents on scene told Global News that their children inside the school had been told to hide under desks and stay in place during the lockdown.
HRP says they do not believe there is a threat to anyone’s safety.
The official Halifax Regional School Board Twitter account tweeted out the information on Friday afternoon.

Halifax police say that their investigation is still ongoing and that they have followed up on several leads.
They are now asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact police at 902-490-5020 or to call Crime Stoppers.
