The Kamloops Rural RCMP released new details Wednesday about the search for Ryan Shtuka, a 20-year-old man who disappeared from Sun Peaks over the weekend.
The Mounties asked Sun Peaks residents to check their out buildings, saying in a news release that it’s possible Shtuka “made his way into a shed, garage or unlocked vehicle.”
Their investigation is ongoing.

Shtuka was last seen leaving a party early on Saturday morning (Feb. 17) at a residence on Burfield Drive, and it was believed that he was going home.
But he didn’t show up for work that day, and he wasn’t active on social media or his cellphone.
Police said in their news release that there have been “no tips that substantiate Ryan left the village of Sun Peaks on Feb. 17.”
Shtuka, who lives in Beaumont, Alta., worked the winter season at Sun Peaks, his mother previously told Global News.
Officers are “actively following up on all tips received” about his disappearance, the release said.
