One person was taken to hospital following a collision between a tractor-trailer and car on Highway 401 near Brighton.
Northumberland OPP closed the westbound lanes near mile marker #513 (east of Brighton exit #509).

“The driver of the car has been transported to a nearby hospital with undetermined injuries,” stated Const. Steven Bates.
Westbound motorists were detoured at County Road 40 (Wooler exit) tp take Emergency Detour Routes to avoid delays.
The lanes reopened around 2:20 p.m. Motorists are to expect delays as traffic clears.
