The Nova Scotia SPCA has put down three of 10 dogs seized from a Yarmouth home.
SPCA officers responded to a complaint from the public on Oct. 2 and seized three dogs that were in immediate stress.

Four days later, they returned with a search warrant and seized another seven dogs from the property. An SPCA spokesperson says three of the dogs had to be humanely euthanized because of their conditions, while the rest were treated and placed for adoption.
Douglas Wilson faces a list of charges, including causing animals to be in distress, failing to provide adequate water and food and failing to provide adequate medical attention.

He has also been charged with confining animals to an enclosure that has inadequate space and unsanitary conditions, as well as willfully permitting unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal.
Wilson is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth provincial court on Dec. 18.
