WestJet resumes regular service after IT issues resolved

WestJet Airlines is resuming regular operations after managing to fix an IT system outage, the airline said in a tweet Saturday evening.

Fifty-five flights were delayed after a “significant IT outage” hampered various systems including check-in, contact centre and reservations late Saturday morning, a WestJet representative told Global News.

WestJet says all passengers affected by the delays will be put on flights to their destinations by the end of Saturday. The delays are not expected to have an impact on Sunday, Oct. 29 flights, the airline assured.
