A 28-year-old man is facing a number of drug and impaired driving-related charges after a car slammed into the side of a house in St. Thomas Sunday morning.
Officers say it was around 3 a.m. when a driver lost control of their vehicle at the corner of Ross Street and Hemlock Street.
The car was attempting to make a left turn when it veered off the road and crashed through a fence and into the side of house on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Police say the male driver and a female passenger tried to flee the scene, but they were arrested a short distance away.
Officers say the driver was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Police say they also seized 116 grams of pot, weight scales and a large amount of cash.
As a result, the man has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of recognizance.
