Hamilton is Canada’s second-best city to find work: Report

Hamilton is being called a “boomtown.”

The kudos are in the latest BMO Labour Market Report Card, which ranks the best places to find work for the third quarter.

Hamilton is ranked No. 2 in Canada after jumping 25 spots in the BMO ranking.

The report card authors point to an increase of 12.5 per cent more jobs in the city even though some of the jobs may be located in other parts of the Greater Golden Horseshoe/Greater Toronto Area.

Kelowna, B.C. tops the list with a 14.3 per cent boost in local jobs.

It was ranked as the worst city in Canada to find a job as recently as a year-and-a-half ago.

Kitchener, Winnipeg and Barrie round out the top five, followed by Vancouver, Guelph, Oshawa, Toronto and Victoria.

Brantford is ranked at No. 13 and St. Catharines is listed at No. 32.
