The Saskatchewan Huskies men’s and women’s hockey teams and the women’s soccer team were in action over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Men’s Hockey
The Huskies swept the Regina Cougars with two dominating performances.
Seven different players found the net on Friday as the Huskies downed the Cougars 8-2.
Andrew Johnson, Alex Forsberg and Levi Cable scored in a span of 59 seconds in the first period, setting a Canada West regular season record for the fasted three goals by one team.
Logan McViegh had three assists and Jordon Cooke stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced.
The Huskies went 0 for 4 on the power play while the Cougars went 2 for 4.
The teams faced off the next night in Saskatoon, where the Huskies blanked the Cougars 6-0.
Taran Kozan made 24 saves for the shutout in his first Canada West start.
Jesse Forsberg and Josh Roach led the way with a goal and an assist as six different players scored.
The Huskies went 1 for 11 on the power play while the Cougars went 0 for 2.
The men are back in action Friday and Saturday when they take on the Lethbridge Pronghorns at Rutherford Rink.
Women’s Hockey
The women’s hockey team were also in action against their provincial rivals, splitting their games against the Regina Cougars.
The Huskies lost a close one at home on Friday, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Cougars.
The winning goal was scored shorthanded by Bailey Braden at 16:14 in the second period.
Chloe Smith and Bailee Bourassa scored for the Huskies.
Jane Kirsh stop 42 of 44 shots she faced for the win while Jasey Book stopped 15 of 18 shots.
Regina went 1 for 1 on the power play while Saskatchewan was 0 for 4.

The women picked up their first win of the season the following night in Regina, downing the Cougars 4-3.
Emily Upgang scored twice in the win, and Chloe Marshall stopped 29 of the 32 shots she faced.
Jordan Kulbida and Jaycee Magwood each had a goal and two assists in the loss, while Morgan Baker made 29 saves.
Saskatchewan went 2 for 8 on the power play while Regina when 0 for 3.
The women travel to Lethbridge to take on the Pronghorns on Friday and Saturday.
Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer team got back in the win column with a 1-0 win over the Regina Cougars on Saturday.
Leesa Eggum had the only goal, converting a pass from Jessica Bradford in the 41st minute.
With the win, the Huskies remain in second place in the standings, three points up on Calgary who have a game in hand.
The women are off to B.C. for a pair of games this weekend, Friday against the UFV Cascades and then Trinity Western on Saturday.
