RCMP continue to look for clues in the disappearance of a 15-year-old Nova Scotia girl.
Mackenzie Eagles was last seen on Sept. 23.
Police say her bike and helmet — which were reported missing from her home — were located by a family member near the airport along Highway 102 on Oct. 1.
Despite the discovery, RCMP say there was nothing to indicate the teen had been involved in a collision.
“The big thing is we need to know is that she’s safe and that she’s okay,” said Mackenzie’s mother, Kelly Eagles.
“We want her home.”
Police say they have reason to believe Mackenzie is in the Halifax-Dartmouth area and continue to follow up on leads from the public.
Both RCMP and Mackenzie’s family are concerned for her well-being and are encouraging her to contact someone to confirm she is safe.
Eagles says there’s been no substantial leads yet when it comes to finding her daughter.
She wants Mackenzie to know she isn’t in any trouble.
“That’s the big thing we’re trying to get across,” Eagles said. “There’s no trouble — we just need to make sure she’s okay.”
Mackenzie is described as a white female, 5 feet tall and 150 pounds. She has dark blond/light brown hair and blue/green eyes.
When she was last seen, Mackenzie was wearing a navy blue sweater and was carrying a dark-coloured backpack with yellow writing on it.
Police are asking anyone who might know of Mackenzie’s whereabouts to contact the East Hants District RCMP at 902-883-7077.
